ABOUT

In the spring of 2020, I had a lot of free time on my hands. I, like everyone else in the world, found new hobbies to entertain myself. I'm a solid enneagram 3 and love working and being productive, so the shutdown was really hard. Painting provided that much needed task for me during that very unproductive time, and I painted, and painted and painted to calm my nerves.

I have two little girls, who were really little girls during that time. Lucy, my oldest, has always had a talent of memorizing things. One day, she came to me and quoted Ephesians 3:20, which I myself do not have memorized (mainly because I'm really terrible at memorizing things), and I most certainly didn't teach her. That rascal had learned if from reading the Covid painting on the wall. She was just learning to read, and I guess she looked at that painting long enough on our blue kitchen walls that it stuck. She could quote the entire thing word for word. I was floored.

I've always thought that Christian art, or any art really, was just for the aesthetic. Not so. It has really been a tool for our family to learn the Word. The goal of Lucky Blackfoot is to share that tool for you to "hide the Word." If you think they are pretty, that's just a bonus.
